최근 치과의 디지털화가 이루어지면서 구강스캐너와 치과용 CT를 이용하여 수술 계획이 이루어지고 3D프린터를 이용하여 Digital surgical guide가 만들어지면서 이러한 양상은 급변하고 있다.
과거에 Center개념에서만 이루어지던 이러한 Digital surgical guide는 관련기기의 소형화와 가격효율성 그리고 운용의 편리성이 더해지면서 기공소나 치과의원에서도 운용이 가능하게 되었고 최근에는 보급률도 증가추세에 있다.
