여러 가지 원인(심한 치아 우식, 외상, 심한 치주질환 등)으로 치아를 발거하게 되면 필연적으로 치조제의 변화가 발생하게 된다.
발치 후 치조제의 생리적 흡수로 인해 결손치 수복을 위한 임플란트 식립시 골 결손부가 흔히 발생하게 된다.
이러한 임플란트 식립과 연관된 골 결손부의 처치를 위해 적용되는 술식으로 4가지 방법이 있다.
블록골 이식술, 치조골 신장술, 치조제 분할술, GBR(Guided bone regeneration).
많은 문헌을 통해서도 확인할 수 있듯이 이 술식들 중 GBR이 가장 보편적으로 적용되고 있다.
이번 강의에서는 GBR 술식을 성공적으로 시행하기 위해 시술 과정시 고려해야 할 중요한 사항들에 대해 이야기하고자 한다.

If Teeth are extracted for various causes(severe dental caries, trauma, severe periodontal disease etc.), alveolar ridge will be changed inevitably. Because of physiological resorption of alveolar ridge, alveolar bone defects often occur during implant surgery for restoring missing area. There are four methods applied to treat alveolar bone defects associated with implantation. : Block bone graft, Distraction osteogenesis ,ridge splitting, GBR(Guided bone regeneration).
GBR is the most commonly applied among these methods, as can be seen in many of the literatures.

- Proper selection of bone grafting materials and membrane
